Packaging and the item are separate.
A pristine figure can have a worn box. Ask about both. “Sealed” describes the seal; it does not, by itself, establish flawless packaging.
Common descriptions
- Sealed / unopened
- Original packaging remains unopened. Confirm the state of the seals and any box or card wear.
- Open-box / complete
- Packaging has been opened. Completeness should be checked against the contents of that particular release.
- Loose
- An item without its original retail packaging. Ask which accessories, stands, or instructions are included.
- Used / display condition
- An item that may have handling or display wear. Actual photos and specific notes matter more than a broad label.
Figures and collectibles
Ask about joint condition, paint wear, repairs, missing accessories, and any tested electronic or action functions. Copyright markings can differ from the retail release year.
Trading cards
For individual cards, review the front, back, corners, edges, and surface. For sealed products, review the seals and packaging. Do not assume a third-party grade unless the specific item is identified and documented as graded.
Games and accessories
Confirm platform, region, exact contents, and tested status. “Complete” should identify whether the case, manual, inserts, and any required accessories are included.
